Welcome to the John Alden Chapter!

Midland, Michigan

The National Society of the Daughters of the American Revolution was organized in 1890 by eighteen patriotic American women. They believed that the descendants of the men and women who helped establish our government had the responsibility to preserve the heritage of a free America valiantly won.

The Society, organized under the laws of the District of Columbia in 1891 and granted a charter by the U.S. Government in 1896, chose the motto "God, Home, and Country," and adopted a three-fold program:

Any woman is eligible for membership in the National Society, and our chapter, if she is at least 18 years of age and is lineally descended from a man or woman who has served as a sailor, soldier, or civil officer in one of the several colonies or states or who was a recognized patriot or who rendered material aid to the cause of American independence. If you are interested in attending a meeting or in membership, please contact our registrar.
